As I sit here waiting (day 5) for my test results for Covid-19, I am gripped with how powerful God’s love is. Lately, our world and our nation has been through so much struggle, pain, death, and lots and lots of waiting.
We have been waiting for toilet paper to come back onto shelves, test results to come in, healing to happen, travel bans to be lifted, and so much more. There has been so much waiting across the globe.
But through all of this waiting, one thing is always there: God’s love. God’s love never changes. God’s peace can always be accessed through kneeling at His feet intently listening, praying, and meditating. You just have to find a quiet place and make spending time alone with God a priority.
For me specifically, God has shown me I am not alone even though recently I have actually spent many weeks completely alone working remotely. And, my daughter has spent the last three weeks with her father for part of her summer visit. Besides the dog barking and a few visitors, it has been very quiet at home.
I’d like to think I have found the silver lining in all of this: I am not alone when I access God’s wonderful love. In all of this waiting, I can choose to be hopeful and faithful, not depressed and downtrodden.
I am careful about what I allow into my spirit. If the news is too much, I shut it off. If social media takes over, I take a long break from it. We get to choose how much time we spend with God soaking in His love and peace. Thankfully, we get to choose what we think about. For the most part, we get choose how we spend our time.
The following is one of my favorite pieces of scripture that shows us God’s beautiful love.
Romans 8:38-39 English Standard Version (ESV) “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Please meditate on this verse because it is so powerful. Nothing, absolutely nothing in all of creation (the whole universe) can separate us from the love of God. No matter what happens, what storm or difficulty comes, God will always always be there for you and me. I don’t know about you, but I find that extremely reassuring especially in chaotic times like these.
So remember, God loves you deeply and He will never ever leave you.
Be Blessed,
